Nowadays many people take a healthy interest in their diet to learn what they can do to optimise their health. Evidence, and therefore publicity, on the health benefits of long-chain omega 3 fatty acids has been around for a number of years and people are now very interested in how it can benefit them.

The Government recommends that all diets should contain oil-rich fish. Advice from the Food Standards Agency suggests that girls and women who might have a child one day, and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, can have up to two portions of oil-rich fish a week. Other women, men and boys can have up to four portions of oil-rich fish a week.

Therefore, there is good reason for long-chain omega 3 fatty acids at every stage of life, from pregnant women to babies, through adulthood and into the senior years.
